The week before last Grandma and Grandpa Doll came to visit us one last time before they take on their new calling as Mission Presidents in Chicago in June. Fun times playing with them at our house, riding the train, seeing the waterfalls and going to the movies. I think I enjoy their visits as much as the boys, it's nice to have some fresh faces to entertain the boys and extra hands around the house. I offered my mom a position as housekeeper/ nanny but sadly I was turned down. . . she said somthing about having done that six times over already. We are so excited for them and look forward to visiting them over the next 3 years and maybe missing them a little too.

Giving himself a new "paint job" was Spencer's idea of entertaining himself while I was feeding Jamison.

Carson attended Track and Field camp at the high school where he spent a few days learning all the events and then got to participate in a track meet yesterday. I am constantly amazed at his self confidence in situations like this. There were 120 campers from Kindergarten-8th graders and was put on by high school kids and he was not the least bit intimated. He walked right up and listened to the directions took off on a warm-up lap around the track and never looked back to see if I was still there. In fact at the track meet they made an announcement for Kindergarten boys to line up for a race and before I could point him in the right direction I saw that he had already ran over to the starting line and whacked some high school boy on the rear end and was saying "I'm a Kindergarten boy! Where do I go?" He did surprising well in his races as well which is mostly due to the fact that he is ultra competitive and he kicked it into a whole other gear when he saw there was someone ahead of him. In fact he was asked by some first graders to be on their relay (picture above) when they saw he was speedy. You can imagine what an honor that is when you're in Kindergarten right? They even ended up winning which made it even sweeter for him.

<v:shape id="Picture_x0020_2" style="VISIBILITY: visible; WIDTH: 245.25pt; HEIGHT: 183.75pt; mso-wrap-style: square" alt="http://carsonoliver.com/blog/images/carsonoliver_com/blog/springbreak2.jpg" type="#_x0000_t75" o:spid="_x0000_i1028"><v:imagedata o:title="springbreak2" src="file:///C:\Users\Kate\AppData\Local\Temp\msohtmlclip1\01\clip_image002.jpg"></v:imagedata></v:shape> <v:shape id="Picture_x0020_3" style="VISIBILITY: visible; WIDTH: 183.75pt; HEIGHT: 245.25pt; mso-wrap-style: square" alt="http://carsonoliver.com/blog/images/carsonoliver_com/blog/springbreak3.jpg" type="#_x0000_t75" o:spid="_x0000_i1027"><v:imagedata o:title="springbreak3" src="file:///C:\Users\Kate\AppData\Local\Temp\msohtmlclip1\01\clip_image003.jpg"></v:imagedata></v:shape>

Last weekend Nick and Spencer made yet another trip to CA this time it was to get whacker boomer #2 off and the pins removed. As you can see he is so happy to have two working hands again. He is such a brave boy and has endured this last year like a champ. He has made a special connection with his surgeon Dr. McCarroll and refers to him as "my friend" regardless of the fact that he has been the source of so much pain. Even as a 3 year old he seems to understand that it was all necessary to making his hands perfect and doesn't hold it against the doctor.

And then there is Jamison who loves to sleep and loves to be held. . . lately he will only sleep when he is held. He is so sweet it's hard to refuse him but I'm finding it's hard to get much done from the couch with one hand. He does sleep well at night, (usually only getting up once to eat) in his own crib which is a feat that neither Spencer nor Carson could accomplish at three weeks old. You can see from the picture above he's not a fan of the "bear suit" even if does keep him warm.
