Just a little trick I showed my parents before I was even 5 months, thanks to my sturdy backside.

Dead Serious

It was one of those days. . .

I'm up to my elbows canning 75 lbs of peaches, Spencer is asking for help every 5 seconds with the computer game, Jamison is teething instead of napping, the Jehovah's Witness are on the front porch wanting to chat it up about the Bible. Add to that two different soccer practices and "Meet the Teacher" and I'm about out of patience. In comes Carson with a note he has written for me. I tell him to read it to me since I'm a little busy.

The note reads "Dear Mom, I'm starving are you ever going to make us lunch?

P.S. I noticed the bathrooms are dirty, are you going to clean them today?"

Is it any wonder some animals in the wild eat their young?

Note to Self

When camping in the great Northwest always remember to pack swim suits and snowsuits. . . most likey you'll need them both in the same trip.

Just walk away and take a deep breath, you know having your boys standing on the edge of the cliff will ALWAYS give you panic attacks. Just don't ruin their fun by asking them to stand five feet back.

The journey is as much fun as the destination, especially when your car gets to ride on the ferry too! Again don't ruin their fun when they want to hang precariously off the side of the boat, just walk away and let Dad be in charge.

Yes, the hassle of packing up the whole house, sleeping on a lousy air mattress, being dirty and tired is SO worth it.

P.S. This camping trip to Orcas Island (one of the San Juan Islands off the coast of WA) was one for the memory books. Good times, good friends, OK weather, a great "go baby" and beauty everywhere!

Kobayashi Beware

This kid was born to eat. At three months he was practically begging for solid foods. The first day he made a face, the second he was opening his mouth as the spoon was heading towards him. Now at 4 1/2 months he pounds down a bowl of cereal and 4 jars of baby food a day, plus nursing and bottles in between. He's yet to meet a fruit or vegetable he didn't like. And still he wakes up multiple times at night to eat, a habit we are painfully trying to break him of. What can I say you don't get a solid double chin by sleeping through the night, no sir that's something that requires hard work and dedication. And boy you've earned it.
